Rural Electrification Corporation Limited (REC) arms RECTPCL and REC Foundation have been working together to empower the differently-abled community in the country through various initiatives. One such initiative has been the distribution of motorized tricycles among divyangs (people with disabilities).

Recently, in association with Wellsmove, a leading manufacturer of vehicle metal frames and electric vehicles, REC distributed 21 motorized tricycles to divyangs in different parts of the country. The distribution program was aimed at providing mobility and independence to the differently-abled individuals who often face difficulties in moving around due to their physical limitations.

Speaking about the initiative, G.T. Venkateshwar Rao, Head of Corporate Communications at REC, said, "We strongly believe that every individual in the country should have access to basic facilities and amenities, including mobility. However, we also understand that the differently-abled individuals often face challenges in finding suitable modes of transportation that cater to their needs. Thus, through our partnership with Wellsmove, we aim to provide motorized tricycles to divyangs across the country and help them live an independent and self-reliant life."

The motorized tricycles distributed among divyangs are designed to provide a comfortable and convenient mode of transportation for those with physical disabilities. These tricycles come equipped with a powerful motor, which enables them to move swiftly and easily on roads and rough terrains.

Additionally, the tricycles also come with several advanced features, such as comfortable seats, adjustable handlebars, and storage space for carrying essentials, making them a practical mode of transportation for daily activities.

Wellsmove, the company partnering with REC on this initiative, is a leading manufacturer of vehicle metal frames and electric vehicles. The company has been producing electric vehicles for personal mobility and entertainment since 2010 and has a wide range of products that cater to different needs, including two-wheel electric scooters, three-wheel electric trikes, off-road electric scooters, citycoco scooters, electric bicycles, ATV/Quads, etc.

Commenting on the partnership, a spokesperson from Wellsmove said, "We are delighted to partner with REC in this noble initiative that focuses on providing mobility to divyangs. At Wellsmove, we believe that electric vehicles have enormous potential to transform the transportation sector and make it more sustainable and efficient. By providing motorized tricycles to differently-abled individuals, we also aim to create awareness about the benefits of electric vehicles and how they can cater to the diverse needs of individuals across the country."

The initiative by REC and Wellsmove to provide mobility to divyangs through motorized tricycles has received widespread appreciation from various quarters. Many individuals have lauded the efforts of the two organizations and emphasized the importance of such initiatives in promoting inclusivity and empowerment.

Overall, through this initiative, REC and Wellsmove have taken a significant step towards empowering the differently-abled community in the country and providing them with an opportunity to lead an independent and fulfilling life. The motorized tricycles provided by the two organizations will undoubtedly go a long way in making mobility accessible to those with physical disabilities and improving their overall quality of life.
